Learning goes beyond the four walls of the classroom and this is the principle we cherish. Along with a holistic and comprehensive curriculum, extra curricular activities have an important role in the balanced development of a child. Our students respond marvelously with enthusiasm, energy and involvement to various activities.
MUSIC AND DANCE LEARNING FACILITY
Equipped with a wide assortment of musical instruments, the music and dance learning facility provides an encouraging ambience to students. In short, a truly ‘note’ worthy place.
ARTS & CRAFTS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
In keeping with our policy of specialised education, arts & crafts as well as work experience are a part of our education programme.
SHIAMAK DAVAR’S DANCE EDUCATION (SDE)
Universal has introduced the SDE – a specially developed programme for school children and taught by highly qualified, skilled and trained SDIPA instructors. SDE’s objective is to offer learners an opportunity to learn dance with special focus on styles and techniques.
The programme draws from Jazz techniques, Ballet exercises, Indian dance forms, Yoga, Physical Training Disciplines, Dance Therapy activities and the Theatre Arts to offer students an outlet for personal growth and creative expression.
Dance is a therapeutic activity, since it enables a direct expression of emotions and thoughts that learners may not be able to otherwise express. Although the most important essence of dance is creative expression and fun, the dance class is structured to improve the following: Fitness levels, Confidence, Concentration, Discipline, Posture, Body Awareness, Attitude, Appetite, Memory, Will Power, Communication skills, Team-spirit, Creativity and thus, all round development.
The health benefits of yoga are well-known to all. Your child will be introduced to meditation, the art of breathing and the asanas that stretch every part of the human body.
SELF DEFENCE AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME
Sports and physical activity are an essential component of any educational endeavour. Following from our belief that every child has intrinsic potential, we intend to provide our students with essential physical opportunities. Inter-school competitions are treated with appropriate seriousness so that students learn to make winning a part of their lives.
To introduce our students to the world of performing arts we have regular workshops to involve and engage the children.
CHILDREN’S FILM CLUB
Your child is introduced to age appropriate world cinema. Films which increase your child’s sensitivity to human rights and bring a growth in his aesthetic sense, are screened periodically.
